The missionary work of Presbyterian Church in Taiwan could divide two groups at the end of Ching period. The missionary activities of the Presbyterian church in England centered in the southern Taiwan from 1865; the missionary activities of the Presbyterian church in Canada centered in the northern Taiwan from 1872. The aim of this article is to compare the missionary work between these two Presbyterian church organizations in Taiwan. There are similar missionary ways between in the southern and northern churches. They were both supported by the force of imperialism, and utilized the suitable opportunity to develop their missionary affairs. The means of their missionary work were medical treatment and education. They chose the harbor to do the center of missionary range. The Christian to joint church easiestly were P'ing P'u clan, and most of their Chinese Christian were not to receive higher education. The instrument of introducing doctrine was the Rome spelling words of Fufien language. Certerianly, there are some different missionary ways between these two church organizations. In the missionary experiment、organization、external support and the oppsiton of residents sides, the southern churches had more the northern. In the check of Christian side, the former was stricter than the latter. Only did the southern church have publication to deliver their message. And the northern church had more interaction with residents and the intelligent than the southern. In short, the missionary work of Presbyterian church in Taiwan was more successful than before, and built good foundation of future development.
