"Hsiao-lin's Come to Taipei" by Wang Tsen-ho is one of his works in the later period whose characteristics are to criticize the society and to satirize some people. As he has worked for an airline, what he observed there leads him to write this fiction. In this work he sympathizes with those who are exploited and condemns those who are rotten. He makes use of juxtaposition as structure to contrast the two types of people in the airline. The didactic and satiric tones of this fiction are revealed by his use of homophones, hyperboles, images, metaphors, metonyms, similes, and other figures of speech.
