The purpose of this study was to investigate the influential factors of career planning of college student athletes. By teasing out the related literatures, this research clarified the influences of career planning on Taiwanese student athletes in college. The main findings of this research are as followed: 1. Influences in the perspective of individual, school, family, and occupation were found having significant effects on the career planning of college student athletes in Taiwan. 2. Long-term sport training and less time spent in studying had caused a rather low schoolwork performance of the student athletes, which engendered an overall disagreeability toward them in their schools. From the findings of the study, two suggestions were provided: 1. Being aware of the importance of career planning, coaches, teachers and the government should strengthen the education of career planning for college student athletes. 2. The government should establish a career counseling system for athletes, which provides help to manage their schoolwork and occupational choice.
