The project is about ”To discuss the meaning of image in T-shape silk painting from Manwangdui Number 1 Tomb's in a guard of the spirit”. T-shape silk painting is also known as ”Ming-Fan” (It means the inscription was written on the streamer.), and it was a mortuary object for nobles when the Han dynasty. The image is about the type how to set offerings was be drawn on the center, that can show the scene of worship. As time goes by, the ceremony of worship is becoming more complete, so that the soul of dead would has a place to live, and never be forgotten by the descendants. There are two statements to the dead, the first one is that though the people has died but his soul will live in the underworld and also keeping the ceremony of worship, just like still alive, but the live person can't communicate with the soul. And the other is the soul could return to this world to accept the worship with descendants, and furthermore the live person can communicate with the soul. So this image can take on the meaning of worship to conform the tradition ”to take care of either the dead or the live person”.
