Before 1945, there was few released publication of Notes on Poetry and “Taiyang Notes on Poetry” by Wang Sung is one of them. Notes on Poetry is traditional Chinese literature and “Taiyang Notes on Poetry” not only inherited this writing style but also created a new way focusing on Taiwan and presenting geographical characteristics. This paper used comparison and contrast to analyze writing structure pattern and found out that with the characteristics of “Taiyang Notes on Poetry” quoted from figures of non-traditional literature history in great amount and changed the discussion style. The Notes became historical reference to a large degree. On one hand, the combination of historical and geographical factors showing the huge change in the spirit of Taiwanese culture; on the other hand, it recorded human and cultural activities in Taiwan area. Due to those characteristics, the Notes implied the author’s painstaking efforts. In terms of writing intention, during that time, Taiwan was handed to the rule of Japanese government; the author was concerned about Taiwan’s future and attempted to set a spiritual example of Taiwanese culture. According to this , he designed a set of hiding narrative strategies and used writers’ activities as clues. He took notes as he liked with implication and valuable judgment of culture in between.
