With the continuous expansion of social information in current society, attentions paid on the relevance, logical relationship and effective cross-domain applications about vast quantities of information have been beyond the single information itself. The information visualization, as the presentation means of optimization of massive complicated information, assist people to understand, has been extensively used. During the education of product design, the massive information centering on the product and the organization of specific and explicit design brief function as the technical base and conception reference of the students' openwork. This study constructs the product design briefs based on the literature in manner of information visualization. The study takes household water purifier as the object, prepares both visualized and literal design briefs, organizes junior students of industrial design college and conducts conception sketch experiment of the product, compares the effect of two kinds of design briefs. According to the experts' evaluation of sketches of two groups, visualized design brief is superior on information transfer than literal design brief. Combine the interview, students' design think focus on the effect of visual presentation of project, perception related manufacture and function of product is inadequate. Due to the status quo of emphasizing of concept and modeling training in current industrial design education, explore the tendency of organization visualized product design briefs, to strengthen students' perception about technical information.
