The purpose of this paper is to review the the related literature of school choice in the United States. The whole paper consists of four sections, Section I presents the background of the school choice movement. Section II analyzes the four models of the school choice-interdistrict choice, intra district choice, postsecondary options, second-change programs. Section III discusses the debates to the chool choice issues, Final section offers the implication of the school choice for the educational reform in Taiwan, The authors recommend that: (1) emphasize the roles of the educational consumers, (2)review the rationality of the school dis-trict system, (3) permit free access to school for the special students (4) implement School-based management (5)allow high school students taking college courses.
