家庭結構的變遷在台灣是一個持續且顯著的社會變遷現象，不僅是走向多元化，更隱含家庭在面對結構轉變、功能轉變、角色轉變的過程，其保護家庭成員的機制也同時面臨挑戰，當社會福利與社會工作在面對諸些有需求的家庭時（the needy families），何謂「需求」的判斷，取決何種視角的採用連帶決定服務的理則界定。傳統上以家庭結構類別，單親、隔代、新移民等作為直接辨識該人口群的需求，一方面未能切實掌握需求因素，再者則是一種實然的標籤行為。本研究以經濟弱勢兒少此一經歷經濟困境與高比例家庭結構變遷之人口為研究對象，採用「台灣貧窮兒少資料庫」進行次及資料分析，檢驗家庭結構與家庭氣氛對諸些經濟弱勢兒少福祉之影響。研究結果顯示，不同家庭結構對於經濟弱勢兒少的福祉狀態並無顯著差異，而良好的家庭氣氛具有促進兒少自我概念、自我效能、教育期望與降低憂鬱程度的影響性，支持家庭氣氛是一個跨越家庭結構類型，促進兒少福祉的策略，其意涵的是將焦點置放在「可改變」、「可被支持」與「持續發展中」的需求，縱然是在一個貧窮且家庭結構歷經變動狀況下的家庭，一個好的家庭氣氛仍然樂觀的帶給兒少健康而正面的發展機會。
A study was conducted to explore the well – being of poverty adolescent as a function of family climate versus family structure. The sample contains two thousand and eight hundred seventy four adolescents from Taiwan Database of Children and Youth in Poverty(TDCYP) was examined on several indicators (self-concept, self-efficacy, depression and educational expectations) as well - being consequent. Participant well – being did not vary by family structure. However, family climate and well – being were signify related. Implications of the study’s findings are discussed.
