本文欲透過劇中對於「知音」議題之提示，以說明姚一葦對於知音的重視，並呈現一般人解讀文藝作品所易產生的問題，進而傳達出作者對知音人的渴望。然而由知音議題所延伸出的「誤解」情形，實與《碾》劇的悲劇情節及劇情發展息息相關。古往今來，人人都希望能找到瞭解自己的人，在《碾》劇中也不例外，因此知音議題在《碾》劇中是不斷被提起的。劇中人對於解讀作品內涵產生的落差，主要的因素是來自於，人們總是習慣以「簡化」的方式解讀作品的內涵，而忽略了作品本身所具備的藝術價值與真正意涵。而眾人對「玉觀音」的「誤解」，也間接使得《碾》劇拉開了悲劇的序幕。所以，「知音」的探討，就是在審視劇中「誤解」之情形，並提出尊重作者意圖的重要性。

Therefore, the problem of “Author’s intention” means to examine "misunderstanding" in the drama and propose the importance of respecting the author's intentions.
