Thesis Synopsis
Owing to adopting the scientific excavation, undamaged condition of unearth, and mammoth amount of storage, the oracle-bone of Yinxu YH127 is regarded as one of the most representative achievement of excavation in modern China. Its value is inestimable. With the very high proportion, Binzu is the most part of its style of the characters. Based on this point, with viewing and examining oracle bones, this thesis is an overall regulation to the Binzu inscription.
The first chapter “Research Origin”, it focuses on the academic value of the oracle-bone of Yinxu YH127, and the fact of difficult arrangement caused by the incessant damages. In addition to pointing out the method of research, this chapter presents a new concept of the method, wishing to gain some different results in the Knowledge of Oracle-bone.
In the second and third chapter, by witnessing and examining real objects, all of “BinBian”and most of “YiBian”, with the BinZu Inscriptions on Yin-xu YH127 Oracle Bones, are arranged as completely as possible for the use of scholars to inspect and review.
In chapter four, in accordance with the vast first-hand data, author investigated the BinZu Inscriptions on Yin-xu YH127 Oracle Bones and made the research of classification. It mainly contains “War”, Worship”, and “Wound or illness”. Through the discussion of this chapter, it provides the reference materials to the Chinese ancient relevant history.
In chapter five, besides the general records of the Inscriptions, author explored the more important aspect; for instance, the size of oracle bones, chisel, and writing-record etc. By means of the study of BinZu Inscriptions on Yin-xu YH127 Oracle Bones in this chapter, it will enable us to get more comprehension about its variant categorization and relationship of time.
Chapter six is a conclusion. Author made a final conclusion to the central issues of the thesis as well as the emphasis of each chapter. The appendix contains two parts: one is the relevant charts and articles, the other is the description and simulation to the “BinBian”oracle bone, by way of personally witnessing and examining in the writing process of chapter two. It presents the reference to the original book “BinBian”.
