唐代「真假國舅疑案」始於文宗太和二年 (828)，終於開成四年 (839)，幾乎與文宗在位時期時間相同。本案涉及文宗試圖崇樹外戚，厚植太后黨，以作為結合南衙朝官對抗宦官集團的籌碼。同時亦涉及藩鎮與換官之角力，錯綜複雜，深植玩味。 文宗朝所發生的「真假國舅案」，看似單純的認親事件，實則暗藏玄機，可視為文宗朝歷史發展的暗流，除彰顯各方政治角力之外，同時亦可觀照文宗朝司法審判管轄權之爭奪。文宗朝為對付由宦官集團所控制的北司獄，遂而以「三司」對抗北司獄，本案最後由三司會審，意義亦在此。

The case of “genuine or fake of Dynastic Elder” started in T’ang Wen-tsyng Tai-ho-two years (828) and finished in Wen-tsung Kai four yeas (839), as long as the Wen-tsung’s reigns. In this case, the emperor Wen-tsung attempted to enlarge the power of The Empress Dowager'’ political party. The Emperor combined the party with the Court Officials of Southern Offices to fight against the eunuch group. Simultaneously, the case reflected the wrest1e between Military Commissioners and the eunuch group. The case seemed to be a simple relatives event. However, it is considered as the undercurrent of the historical development in the period of T'ang Wen-tsung. This case also presents the official scramble for judicial trial jurisdiction in the period of T'ang Wen-tsung. Wen-tsung issued an order allowing the Three Judicial Offices to try this case to fight against the Northern Prison Offices controlled by the eunuch group. This indicates another important significance of the case.
