Hakka TV entertainers have been frequently invited to be guests for TV talk shows, discussing Hakka values such as frugality and An-Gian( which means perseverance). It enhanced the visibility of Hakka people in the mainstream media. However, the stereotyping of Hakka conventions deteriorated Hakka images ironically. The phenomenon that Hakka entertainers besmirch Hakka ethnic groups indicates an unseen structure of TV programs. Through Bourdieu's theory of Habitus, this study aims at analyzing the nature of Hakka representation as reflected in TV entertaining programs, and evaluating the impact of negative representation on Hakka ethnic group.
