Shih-li Hsiung achieved a dominant position and became a neo-Confucain pioneer of his time by raising his own ontology in modern Chinese academic circles. He was inspired greatly by many scholars; among which, Yang-ming Wang is a case in point, who plays a significant role influencing Hsiung. By means of the relevant works of Shih-li Hsiung, Yang-ming Wang and Zhu-zi and other scholars’ perspectives of old times and modern times, Hsiung’s innovative thinking and era’s response towards Yang-ming’s School can be clarified and investigated. This essay is aimed not only to explore how Hsiung treated, followed, and amended Wang’s ideas, but also to learn that Wang’s Ontology, Conscience Theory and Resolution Theory did have a powerful impact on Hsiung from the following three aspects, including “Wang’s role from Hsiung’s point of view”, “Hsiung’s explanation and enhancement of Wang’s beliefs”, and “Hsiung’s critique of the partial development of Wang’s followers.”
