This paper studies the Taiwanese stories written in the '60th and '70th focusing on those concerning students studying in USA and their families who sponsor the younger generations going overseas. There are two different types of realistic writings appearing in both serious literature magazines such as Xiandai Wenxue, modern literature magazine, and in the popular ones, such as the Crown. One standing on students' sides often depict their personal experience particularly combining cultural shock and the hand-to-mouth way they led, the other on their Taiwanese families' sides also has difficult stories to tale because of loneness and poverty, sending the younger going overseas cost a lot. To gain the green card, feedback to their parents, become illness or die, and take care the elders are plots and family reunions often reach the highest point of interest and the turning point of the story. It reminds us that one who has vision can see through difficulties.
