Two volumes of ”Taiyang Poetic Causeries” published in 1905 is a signature poetic discourse written by Hsinchu classical poet Wang Song (1866-1930) during Japanese colonial era of Taiwan in the late Qing Dynasty. This work which has enjoyed great popularity focuses on commentary or interpretation of classical poetry. In more recent years, academic circle places particular emphasis on the writing of consciousness of nation and national integrity in Wang's poems. Nineteen years after ”Taiyang Poetic Causeries” was published in 1905, Wang continuously submitted the writing of ”Sequel of Taiyang Poetic Causeries” to ”Taiwan Poetry Forum” of Taipei Literary Monthly in 1924 was the general compilation of poems in his later years. This essay takes ”Sequel of Taiyang Poetic Causeries” as the research material to comb through and organize the contents in research edition which recorded 31 literati and 38 particulars to understand the connotation of Wang's poems and characteristics and value of ”Sequel of Taiyang Poetic Causeries”.
