This qualitative research focuses on female military instructors’ work experiences. Through interviews, the researchers investigated the impacts of “gender” on work experiences and career development of female military instructors. The research findings are as follows. Most of the female military instructors must contend with the problem of discrimination in their workplace. Their promotion is also affected by gender stereotyped and gender role ideology. In addition, the researchers also found that the interviewees have also been confined by themselves psychologically. The researchers finally suggest that more institutional design to improve the discriminatory work conditions is needed.
