The purpose of the study was to survey the status of actual role perception of Elementary Physical Education Teachers (EPETs) with different background in Taiwan. According to the literature research and pilot study, an “EPET Role Reception Questionnaire” was made, and 397 EPETs were surveyed, using this questionnaire. The data was statistically analyzed, and the conclusion were as follows: 1. The precedence of EPETs’ actual role component perception were “Teaching and Assessment”, “Administration and Management”, “Service and Consultation”, “Curriculum Development”, “Athletic Coaching” and “Research and Further study”. 2. All actual role components of EPETs’ perception were belonged “medium level practice”. 3. Sex, mentoring coaching, service year, education background, coaching year, service area and school size influenced the EPETs’ actual role perception. 4. The “Teaching and Assessment” component of EPETs’ role perception did not influenced by any EPETs’ background factors. According to the conclusion, the recommendation or the future study were to compare the accord between actual role perception and role behavior of EPETs, and to discuss the discrepancy of perception between ideal and actual role.
