Through data analysis, the study attempts to investigate the reality of the system reforms of teachers’ education in Taiwan since 1896. Usually due to economic and political developments, society change, democratization, and social-reconstruction, the systems reforms of teachers’ education had happened in Taiwan before. Obviously, the most important factor was the passage of Teacher Preparation Law (TPL) in 1994. The Law turned the contemporary rules about teacher preparation confined to normal colleges into that both normal colleges and universities with education department can offer education courses. Why were Teachers Colleges suddenly“at risk”as soon as TPL was passed? How did Teachers Colleges face the challenge? This report indicates some of the major findings.
