本文採取質性的研究典範，以詮釋學與個人建講論為基礎的方法理論，進行一項基礎性的探索研究。研究目的在瞭解一個馬術活動的參與者，從接觸此項活動到涉獵漸深的歷程現象，從深度休閒(serious leisure)理論著眼，以深入訪談方式獲得參與者的口述經驗後，經研究者依據時間歷程整理文本(text)，並加以採用敘事分析，再與參與者進行最後建構式的訪談，完成初步的故事敘說。透過故事的敘說，研究發現當認真、嚴肅變成一個參與休閒活動的態度，休閒將有所改變；其次在休閒本質的理論中，認真參與的態度是被允許的，同時透過深度休閒的探討將可發現過渡休閒(transitional leisure)

This study adopted qualitative research paradigms based on hermeneutics and constructivism to understand the subjective world of the mechanism and phenomena of equestrian participants from their start to the end of the activity. Based on the theory of serious leisure, the oral experiences of the participants were collected through in-depth interviews. The text was thus chronologically developed and the stories were preliminarily narrated through constructive interviews with the participants. By narrating, it was discovered when seriousness and strictness became the attitude of attending leisure activities, leisure would be changed. Moreover, in the essence of leisure, the serious attitude toward getting involved in leisure activities is permitted. Meanwhile, the higher value of transitional leisure can be examined through serious leisure.
