Owing to Multi-channel School Admission System and reduction of numbers of 5-year College, significant differences were revealed for Japanese capabilities of freshmen students of departments of Japanese. This study interviewed freshmen of Japanese departments of technological universities and investigated their experience and thoughts. Love Japanese was the principal driving force for students to enter Japanese departments. But most of these students noted the defficiencies of their capabilities of Japanese compared with those of classmates. Some students felt frustrated but did not want to lower the teaching quality since they still wanted to learned comparable contents with the classmates. Classmates and family members supported these students in studying. Progress in scores clamed students down. These students assumed they grew with these learning experience and assumed they will overcome difficulties in further studies. Hence, most students are holding positive thinking in learning.
