Dragon patterns have long been regarded as the representative element of the Chinese culture and civilization. Jade artifacts excavated from the Jia Yi Tombs in Liulige, Huixian, Henan, belong to the Spring and Autumn period and have deep cultural significances. Decorative motifs of Dragon have variety of significances and evolve into a wide range of styles. This paper will start by examining jade artifacts from Jia Yi Tombs as well as jade artifacts from other areas in Henan and try to trace a common style and significance of dragon motif in Spring and Autumn period.
