This study aimed to see how tactical games integrated with TPSR would influence the physical education motivation and responsibility of primary school students, hoping to achieve the following objectives: First, through tactical games integrated with TPSR, physical education motivations were better described and understood. Second, through tactical games integrated with TPSR, physical education responsibility were better described and understood. This study had designed 12 lessons of TPSR PE classes with quasi-experimental methods. Experimental group was given the tactical games integrated with TPSR teaching, and control group was given the tactical games PE teaching. Both groups were given Children’s Physical Education Motivation test as well as Primary School Students’ Responsibility in Physical Education test to examine the effects of different PE teaching. Quantitative data were conducted with independent-sample t-test, paired-sample t-test; qualitative data were collected and analyzed with constant comparative method. The results indicate:1. In the Children’s Physical Education Motivation test and the Primary School Students’ Responsibility in Physical Education test, both the experimental group and the control group showed no significant difference between pre-test and post-test. 2. In the Children’s Physical Education Motivation test, the measured scores in the scale of “overall motivation”, “identified regulation” and “amotivation” reached significant difference between pre-test and post-test of the experimental group, but there was no significant difference in the control group. 3. In primary school students’ responsibility in physical education test, the measured scores in the scale of “overall responsibility”, “respect”, “effort and self-directon”, “help others”, and “cooperation and leading” reached significant difference between pre-test and post-test of the experimental group, but there was no significant difference in the control group. 4. Tactical games integrated with TPSR on physical education can promote students' motivation. 5. Tactical games integrated with TPSR on physical education effectively enhance students' sense of responsibility. According to the above results, this study suggested that tactical games integrated with TPSR might contribute to PE teaching in the future.
