苯甲基化之木材粒片可藉由熱融自膠合而成板，本研究乃探討苯甲基化麻六甲合歡粒片應用熱融自膠合製造粒片板時，成板比重對其粒片板性質之影響，並探討利用苯甲基化木材粒片混合未處理木材粒片製造粒片板之可行性。由試驗結果得知，苯甲基化麻六甲合歡粒片應用於粒片板製造時，成板比重0.9者具備優異之內聚強度及浸水時之尺寸安定性，成板比重0.7者之內聚強度則明顯較低，然仍優於UF膠及PF膠所製造之傳統粒片板。苯甲基化粒片板浸水時之吸水率及厚度膨脹率均隨成板比重增加而降低，且均明顯低於UF膠及PF膠所製造之傳統粒片板。將苯甲基化粒片與未處理粒片混合熱壓製造粒片板時，隨未處理粒片比例增加，其板材性能降低，粒片混合比8/2者，浸水時之吸水率低於傳統粒片板，厚度膨脹率則介於PF膠粒片與UF膠粒片板之間。
Benzylated wood particles could be thermally melted and used in the manufacturing of wood-based board by auto-adhesion. In this study, the effect of board specific gravity on the properties of benzylated malacca albizzia (Albizia falcataria) particleboards made with thermally auto-adhesion and the feasibility of blending benzylated with untreated particles to manufacture the particleboards were investigated. The results showed that benzylated Malacca albizzia particleboard with specific gravity of 0.9 had excellent internal bonding strength and dimensional stability after water soaking, but the internal bonding strength descended significantly if the specific gravity lowered to 0.7, but still better than traditional particleboards made by UF and PF adhesives with the specific gravity of 0.9. The water adsorption and thickness swelling of benzylated particleboards decreased as the specific gravity of board increased. All the benzylated particleboards had lower water adsorption and thickness swelling than particleboards made by UF and PF. As the particleboard was made by blending benzylated wood particles with untreated wood particles, the properties of auto-adhered particleboard decreased as the ratio of untreated wood particles increased. Particleboard with the blending ration of 8/2 had lower water adsorption than traditional particleboard and had the thickness swelling between PF and UF particleboard.
