本論文首先試圖用社會學家Bourdieu(1985)場域理論解釋戲劇教學法在新加坡華文教育的萌生，是因應新加坡政治、經濟、社會文化和教育場域間關係變動的結果，新加坡頻繁的母語教育改革提供了戲劇作為教學方法得以在華文教學場域著根的基礎。此外，透過文獻分析官方期待戲劇在華文教育所扮演的角色，以及對戲劇的定位。再者，以新加坡華文教研中心為例，介紹戲劇在華文教育的發展現況，說明該中心與戲劇教學法相關的培訓課程、教學研究和出版物。最後，借用Williams(1977)的文化觀點論述戲劇作為教學方法在新加坡華文教學領域可能面臨的挑戰。
This paper firstly indicates that the emergence of applying drama as pedagogy in the field of Chinese language education is the result of relational alteration in the fields of politics, economy, society and education in Singapore. The frequent mother tongue reforms facilitate the pedagogical significance of applying drama in education. Secondly, this paper reports on the expected role of drama as pedagogy in the field of Singapore Chinese language education through reviewing the literature and governmental documents. Thirdly, this paper introduces the case of Singapore Centre for Chinese Language including the development of teacher training, classroom research and publications. Finally, this paper points out the potential challenges of applying drama as a pedagogical tool in the field of Chinese language education in Singapore.
