The purpose of this study was to (a) analyze the influence of paternalistic leadership and team cohesion of junior high school badminton players, (b) identify the relationship between the paternalistic leadership and team cohesion of junior high school badminton players. For questionnaires designed by the author were utilized for data collection including (a) demographic information sheet; (b) paternalistic leadership scale; (c) team cohesion scale. The study general selected 578 badminton players from junior high school students in Taiwan as subject. From the survey returned, 540 were coded accounted of 93% in final response rate. Product-moment correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis were computed for data analysis. The results indicated that: (a) Benevolent leadership and moral leadership had an obvious positive effect on team cohesion. (b) The team cohesion could be predicted by the benevolent leadership and moral leadership.
