The purpose of this study is to assess the influence of P.E. courses on physical fitness for the students at teacher's college and to compare and analyze the difference in physical conditions among both male and female students. The participants were the 1994-class 69 male and 78 female students who provided the longitudinal test data from freshman to senior years. This study shows that regular P.E. curriculum contributes positively to the physical fitness of students, and the gender difference in students' physical fitness does exist as commonly believed. It is suggested that all universities and colleges conduct similar tests on a long-term basis. These test results will lead to a better understanding of the student's physical fitness conditions. They may also serve as reference material in adjusting the curriculum content and in modifying the standards of physical fitness.
