This study aimed to investigate the influence of cognitive style and knowledge sharing behavior on design teams’ creativity in the cultural and creative industries. The shared mental model was used as a mediator to analyze its mediation effect on cognitive style, knowledge sharing behavior and team creativity. The purpose was to construct path and structural model among cognitive style, knowledge sharing behavior, shared mental model and team creativity.
This study randomly selected 96 design teams in 90 cultural and creative companies from the "2011Taiwan Design Services Directory." The measurement of structural equation model was performed on 400 valid questionnaires to analyze the goodness of fit of the various factors in the scales. The path coefficient and structural model of various scales were integrated to obtain the following conclusions:
1.The influence of cognitive style on team creativity shows no significant differences.
2.The influence of knowledge sharing behavior on team creativity is significantly positive. Among the factors of knowledge sharing behavior, the effect of active teaching is greater than information sharing.
3.The shared mental model has no significant positive mediation influence on cognitive style and team creativity.
4.The shared mental model has a significant positive mediation effect on knowledge sharing behavior and team creativity.
