This research is aimed at exploring the concepts and modes in evaluating ceramic art instruction implemented in Taiwan, with several conclusions as follows: 1.Instructional evaluation should embrace the Instruction System and the Evaluation System, which inter-react with each other. 2.The evaluation on ceramic art instrucation can be defined as applying proper methods of evaluation and procedures to collect information related to ceramic art instruction for analysis, explanation, study and judgment, in order to get acquainted with the efficiency of teachers in implementing ceramic art instruction and the results of study among students, check to see if the objective of ceramic art instruction is achieved and form policies and action plans for improving ceramic art instruction. 3.The evaluation on ceramic art instruction is composed of the evaluation on the results of study, the evaluation on course design. 4.The evaluation on ceramic art instruction should include the System of Ceramic art Instruction and the Evaluation System 5.Strategies for the evaluation on ceramic art instruction should consist of Evaluation Items Based on Objectives of Education, Flexible, Interchangeable and Multi-Polar Evaluation, Equal Importance to the Evaluation on Quality and Quantity and Student-Centered Evaluation on the Results of Study in a proper manner. 6.The evaluation on production of ceramic art is an important link in the evaluation on ceramic art. Items evaluated should be worked out according to instruction objectives.
