近年來,學校領導的議題愈來愈受到教育學者、研究者和政策制訂者的注意(Leithwood & Duke, 1999)。而實際上,學校領導早存在於社會關係中,它涉及了目的和方向,是一種影響力的過程,且特別關注已存在的脈絡和成員的特質等因素,以發揮領導的成效(Leithwood &Riehl, 2005)。因此,校長必須積極的與學校同仁進行對話(Hutchings, 2004),並藉由共同合作的過程來完成教學目標(Catano & Stronge, 2006)。
