邵族是居於日月潭邊德化社人數極少的南島系原住民族群，該族很早即開始涵化 於漢文化，不過其農曆八月的傳統豐年節慶活動，卻一直維繫下來，繼而成為邵人自我認 同的最重要表徵之一。近幾年來，各級政府戮力把邵族豐年祭納入中秋觀光季活動的範圍 ，該祭典因此面臨被漢人中秋節化或意義扭曲化的威脅。 邵人在此情境下，發展出〝內演〞（依傳統方式自我展演）與〝外演〞（依觀光需求演給 外人看）的策略，如此既可維繫傳統，也能滿足國家政治文化和觀光文化的要求。然而， 該族前後輩成員在年節展演之知識與技術的教習過程中，卻出現了代溝的問題。另外，政 府介入所帶來之補助款的使用分配，也造成部份族人間的異見。這些問題顯示了上下世代 間的〝文化匱話〞，以及社群本身的〝族群乏源〞。它們的交作結果可能會影響邵族的文 化存續，並造成成員們向心力的鬆弛。

　　　　　Ther Thao People whose population are only less than three hundred still maintain their traditional New Year ceremony in the eighth month of every lunar year. However, the state's local agency has been attempting to integrate such a ritual with Han-Taiwanese/Chinese mid-Autumn Festival. This particular new year celebration tradition thus faces critical threat of being assimilated or distorted by dominant culture. Under the circumstances, the Thao Pepole develop two kinds of strategies, i.e., perform of ouselves and perform for strangers, in order to keep traditional activity and its meaning alive on one hand, and follow the government's propsal on the other. But the generation gap is an evident problem in the processes of teaching and learning techniques in cultural performances. And stat's involvment has also obviously brought unexpectably negative influence on the relationships among members of the Thao People. The critical problem lies in the distribution of money sponsored by state's local office. Most people suffer from never ending quarrelling and mutual-hatred within community on poor management of supposedly shared money. To summarize, lacking dialogue between older and younger generation is a possible element for affecting the persistence of traditional ceremony. And lacking resources(i.e.,money) is another unnegletable fact in Thao community which may speed up social uneasiness that seriously threatens the existence of such a tiny ethnic group.
