本研究旨在探討社會學對教師角色之論述,以勾勒出社會脈絡中的教師角色。透過文獻探討,本研究發現「教師角色在社會脈絡中具多維影像(教師角色似受雇者、似母親(養育者)、似技術的專家、似勞工、似有機的知識份子、似新興的小資產階級、似意識形態國家機器的代理人、似獨立的技藝匠、似轉化型的知識份子、或似文化工作者等)」、「教師角色牽涉之因素相當廣泛」、「教師角色是模糊且不易界定的」、「教師角色兼具正功能與負功能」,並據此提出「教師角色檢核及反省表」,以作為教師檢視與反省之依據,進而提高將教師角色整合至其自我形象之可能性。
