The main purpose of this study was to explore the study of teaching portfolios on the professional growth of the elementary school intern teacher. Data of structure interviews, teaching portfolios and teaching documents of five elementary school intern teachers are analyzed in this study.The results from the analysis of the teaching portfolios showed that inter teachers teaching professional development could be improved , but the teaching portfolios as assessment tools has its limitations, including the intern teacher's reflective ability and the content needs to be strengthened etc. After organizing and analyzing the data, the findings can be taken as suggestions to the teacher training institutions in Taiwan.
