本研究以一位國小校長為研究對象;探討校長生命故事,運用質性研究之敘說探究方法;透過訪談、觀察、紀錄和文件檔案、田野札記等,進行閱讀、理解、描述、歸納的生命故事;呈現其校長領導生命故事的歷程。並試著從校長領導理論歸納分析個案在校長領導的內涵與特色、重要他人及關鍵事件、生涯選擇的因素、理念與觀點、生命的有利情境與困境等因素。分析與詮釋校長領導的樣貌,呈現個案校長領導的獨特性。並獲得以下結論:
一、個人特質方面:態度誠懇、負責、有親和力、創意點子多。
二、行事風格方面:堅持原則,凡事有擔當,設身處地為學生、老師及學校的發展為導向,以優勢、有自信的表現出個人行事風格,處事態度。
三、治校理念方面:注重品格教育,認為課業與才藝需並重,注重學校整體發展,凡事均以學生至上。
四、學校經營策略方面:以同心協力、團體合作,藉由辦活動帶動成長,人員管控精準,善用媒體曝光。校長生命故事中因個人特質、領導關鍵影響:校長行事風格、治校理念、學校經營策略。
其校長領導歷程大致符合學理上之趨勢,並可總結為兩階段:
一、從存在中體驗生命。
二、從生命中尋求超越。
此外在其生涯歷程所處快速變革的外在環境中,均有許多重要他人關鍵事件。個案不斷從自身成長、遭遇困境和累積的經驗中調整腳步、順勢而行,以積極並富有彈性的態度去面對生涯發展歷程的轉變。
  This study enrolled an elementary school principal as the research subject to investigate the principal’s life story and use the narrative inquiry of qualitative research as the research method. This study used interviews, observations, record and document files, field notes, etc. to read, understand, describe and summarize the principal’s life story, as well as reflect the process of principal leadership life story. Moreover, this study attempted to use the theory of principal leadership to summarize and analyze the meanings and characteristics of principal leadership, significant others & critical events, factors, ideas, and perspectives affecting career choice, and favorable situations and predicaments of life of the subject. This study analyzed and interpreted the characteristics of principal leadership, as well as reflected the uniqueness of principal leadership of the subject. This study reached the following conclusions:
1. Personality traits: sincere, responsible, and friendly attitude; creative ideas.
2. Behavioral style: adhering to principles, being responsible, fighting for students, teachers, and school development, demonstrating a competitive and self-confident personal behavioral style, attitude, and social skill.
3. School management idea: attaching importance to character education, paying equal attention to both academic performance and talent performance, focusing on school overall development, and prioritizing student-related affairs.
4. School operating strategies: developing school growth with collaboration and teamwork, precisely managing and controlling personnel, and making the best use of media exposure.
The personality traits and leadership in the principal’s life story have a critical influence on: principal behavioral style, school management idea, and school operating strategies.
The principal leadership process generally conforms to theoretical trend, and can be summarized into two stages:
1. Experiencing life through existence;
2. Seeking transcendence through life.
  Moreover, during the principal’s career process, may significant others and critical events took place in the rapidly changing external environment of the principal. The subject constantly encountered difficulties, made adjustments with self-growth and accumulated experiences, and followed the current trends to face the transformations in career development process with an aggressive and flexible attitude.
