有別於文化再製的悲觀性結構論，批判教學論強調個人價值觀解放與社會重建功能，本文據此剖析批判教學論重要學者的論點，諸如P. Freire以及H. Giroux等，這類學者主張教育應成為文化論壇，因此教師應具有文化批判的視野，以脫離文本的束縛，使教學成為一個民主的對話歷程，俾使學生能積極表達其個別的文化經驗，進而發展其獨立價值觀，進而建立民主化的社會型態，儘管此種訴求主要聚焦於價值觀層面，但是，其相關論點仍有助於師生互動。
