This research aims to understand the interrelationships between principal facilitative leadership, team cohesion, team decision-making, and school effectiveness in vocational high schools.
The findings of this study are as follows: First, the facilitative leadership, team decision-making, team cohesion, and school effectiveness agree on the extent above average in vocational high schools. Second, there is a significantly positive correlation between school organization of team decision-making and team cohesion: the higher the team decision-making power is, the higher the team cohesion is. Third, team cohesion on school effectiveness has significant predictive power and thus it is a valid predictor of school effectiveness. Also, the higher the school effectiveness is, the higher team cohesion is. Fourth, team decision-making power can effectively enhance the performance of schools and thus serves as an effective predictor of school effectiveness: the higher team decision-making power is, the higher the school effectiveness is. Fifth, principal facilitative leadership will be more effective in enhancing school effectiveness through high team decision-making. Sixth, facilitative leadership on team decision-making, team cohesion , and school effectiveness have significant predictive power, the better the performance of the principal facilitative leadership is, the better the team decision-making, team cohesion and school effectiveness are. Seventh, compared to team cohesion effect, decision-making on school effectiveness leads to higher performance and is a better predictor. Eighth, in this study, the model is more suitable for the construction of vocational school staff to explain the relationship between the facilitative leadership, team decision-making, team cohesion, and school effectiveness.
