Servant leadership originated with Jesus Christ. The words and deeds of Christ, Saint Benedict of Nursia, and Mother Teresa have been the excellent examples of servant leadership, which are valuable to be adapted for teacher education in Taiwan, ROC. This paper addresses the origin and development, and meaning and theoretical foundations of servant leadership. Then its related characteristics, roles, and behaviors in Christianity are further analyzed. Referring to the results obtained, this paper suggests that several parts can be applied in Taiwan for pre-service teacher education, teacher induction, and teacher professional development. In pre-service teacher education, this paper proposes that teacher training institutions should emphasize the value of love and service and utilize the various forms of servant leadership, and the like. In teacher induction, the schools should select mentor teachers, full of love and wisdom, to help the new teachers carry out the servant leadership, and the like. In teacher professional development, teacher education institutions and schools should strengthen their cooperation and partnership to further develop these forms of teacher leadership.
