教育對於個人和社會的發展有其深遠的影響，故可探知教育的重要性。然身為教師者需要瞭解教育的本質，如此方能對教育深切體認，進而引領學生自我實現，並充實自我生命的意義與價值。所以本文試從教育的目的、功用與歷程三方面探析教育的本質，並冀望藉由本文的探討，讓教師明瞭教育的本質，實現更合情理的教育，進而讓受教者身心健全發展，未來成為一位良善公民。
Education, which results in a deep influence for personal and social development, is important for people. Teachers need to understand the essence of education, and can have a more in-depth educational awareness. And then teachers will enable students to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. For the reason, this essay is mainly to explore educational essence from the perspectives of educational aim, educational function and educational process. It is hoped that such an exploration can make teachers understand the essance of education, and practice a more reasonable education. Moreover, students can develop a healthy body and mind, and become a good citizen in the future.
