鼓勵國中畢業生就近入學，為近年來臺灣高級中等教育的改革方向，本研究旨在運用學校選擇的研究取向，解釋學生的就近入學選擇。本研究透過追蹤研究，探討學校選擇考量因素對就近入學的影響，並依據區域發展類型的不同分別進行分析。本研究對象為高雄市公立國中應屆畢業生，共有1,302人參與問卷調查，再於畢業後追蹤調查其所就讀的學校，以瞭解受訪者選擇就近入學與否。由於樣本流失與排除，共計有效樣本1,075人納入分析。研究結果如下：一、不同背景變項高雄市國中應屆畢業生就近入學之比率未有顯著差異；二、學業成績對就近入學的影響因區域而異；三、學校選擇考量因素對於就近入學選擇具有預測力；四、本研究解釋模型於中度發展類型區域最具解釋力。
Given that the main policy of the Taiwanese government involves encouraging attendance at nearby senior secondary schools, this follow-up study was designed to explore the influence of school choice preferences on decisions about whether to enroll in neighborhood schools according to region. The sample consisted of 1,302 ninth-graders in Kaohsiung who were initially asked to complete questionnaires about the importance of each of a series of school characteristics in their choice of senior secondary schools. After graduating from junior high school, they were followed up to determine if they had enrolled in their neighborhood schools. As a result of attrition and the application of exclusion criteria, the final sample consisted of 1,075 participants. Our data analysis identified four main results: 1. Enrollment in nearby senior secondary schools was not affected by demographic characteristics. 2. The effect of achievement on nearby-enrollment differed by region. 3. Considerations related to distance and proximity were positively related to decisions to enroll in neighborhood schools. 4. The factors that affected decisions to enroll in neighborhood schools differed by region.
