In this article, the author argues that the Curriculum Reform of Grade 1-12 is an important content for Grade 1-12 National Education Reform in Taiwan. The government in Taiwan should revise the Grade 1-9 National Curriculum Guideline and the high school curriculum guideline. The Ministry of Education could also take research experience from "Definition and Selection of Competencies: Theoretical and Conceptual Foundations", an OECD's research project, and conduct a research on key competencies in Taiwan in order to establish a rationale for the Grade 1-12 Curriculum Reform. The author also suggests that the Ministry of Education in Taiwan should continue the Grade 1-12 Curriculum Reform based on the coherence of curriculum research, planning, design, implementation and evaluation.
