The main purpose of this study was to construct measurement criteria of synergistic leadership and school effectiveness which adapt to vocational high schools’ administrative staff on Taiwan (R.O.C.), and explore the important perception and status quo. The measurement instrument of “Synergistic Leadership and School Effectiveness in Vocational High School on Taiwan Questionnaire” was developed based on the “Organizational Leadership and Effectiveness Inventory II, OLEI II”. The questionnaires were mailed to 47 vocational high school principals and 1,222 vocational high school administrative staffs which were sampled by multi-stage random. The effective return rates of principals and administrative staffs were 87.2% and 82.9%.
According to the results of literature review and statistical analyses, the conclusions of this study were as follows:
1.There were good validity and reliability in “Synergistic Leadership and School Effectiveness in Vocational High School on Taiwan Questionnaire”.
2.In important perception of synergistic leadership measurement criteria of vocational high school staffs, there was difference among age, educational degree, positions, work years, and school location.
3.In status quo of synergistic leadership measurement criteria of vocational high school staffs, there was difference among sexes, age, educational degree, positions, and work years.
4.In important perception of school effectiveness measurement criteria of vocational high school staffs, there was difference among educational degree, positions, work years, and school location.
5.In status quo of school effectiveness measurement criteria of vocational high school staffs, there was difference among age, educational degree, positions, and school location.
6.The domains and whole domain of synergistic leadership and school effectiveness were positively and significantly correlated in vocational high school staffs.
